Test Pages

Nikita has a small suite of test pages that demonstrate how she reports the errors that will make your pages show up in the Hot Pages report.

General

A page with a validation error
A page with an unknown doctype
A page with a missing doctype
A page with a long URL
A page with an identity crisis (XHTML 1.1 sent as HTML)

HTTP

A page accompanied by an invalid HTTP date header
A page accompanied by a non-ASCII HTTP header
A page accompanied by a non-absolute HTTP Location header
A page accompanied by an undefined HTTP response code

Encoding

These pages test Nikita's ability to detect encodings specified in multiple places See the article Encoding Divination for more about how user agents determine encodings on the Web.

A page with multiple, matching encodings
A page with two conflicting encodings
A page with three encodings, all conflicting
A page with three encodings, two duplicate, one different
A page that is unreadable to Nikita due to a mis-specified encoding

Validation Mode

These pages test Nikita's ability to chose the correct validation mode. See the article About Validation Mode for an explanation of validation mode and descriptions of the specific tests.
